In this thought-provoking session with renowned urban planner Jan Gehl and architect Bjarke Ingels, urban futurist and Recoded City author Thomas Ermacora brings together Copenhagen’s leading urban thought-leaders to share insights and lessons learned in city building during the pandemic. They’ll discuss what the people of tomorrow will want and need from cities, the urban utopias we should be dreaming of, and how to create them in both developed and developing cities around the world.
Bjarke Ingels founded BIG—Bjarke Ingels Group—in 2005 after co-founding PLOT Architects and working at OMA in Rotterdam. Bjarke defines architecture as the art and science of ensuring our cities and buildings fit with the way we want to live. He was named one of TIME’s 100 Most Influential People.
Jan is an architect, professor and urban design consultant who has focused his career on improving the quality of urban life by reorienting the design of the city towards the people in the cities: public life, pedestrians, and cyclists.
